French artist Isabelle Yamamoto, based in Brussels, Belgium, creates cushions and other home textiles using vintage fabrics collected during her travels. She re-dyes and reworks European textiles from the 20th century, drawing inspiration from Japanese boro traditions to craft pieces for contemporary living.

This Tea Zabuton—a heat pad or trivet—is filled with buckwheat hulls. The attached ties are repurposed as-is from the original grain sacks the fabric came from.

Artist: Isabelle Yamamoto
Item: Trivet M
Size: 15 x 15 cm
