Whirlflow | Incense(Urayanagi)

Taiwanese artist Kairyu (洄流) has spent many years collecting and exploring antique objects. His work explores the spiritual and sacred qualities that dwell within things.

To burn this powdered incense, spread an even layer of incense ash in a vessel, place a small amount of incense powder on top, and shape it into a little mound. Light the tip of the mound and let it smoulder.

Ura-yanagi, one of Japan’s traditional colours, is the pale yellow-green found on the underside of willow leaves, sheltered from direct sunlight. This fragrance was blended to evoke the soft hue of willow leaves in spring. Enjoy it in a vessel of your own choosing.
